Join us next Wednesday February 19th at the textile studio, room AA04, for a talk by visiting artist Cynthia Alberto.
“Cynthia Alberto is a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology (F.I.T.) in New York City, where she studied textile surface design with a specialization in weaving. In 2007 she founded Weaving Hand a Brooklyn based studio that celebrates, embraces and promotes the sustainability of global hand weaving traditions. Cynthia has exhibited her work around the world, and was the recipient of the Dan River Weaving Award, The Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant, Peters Valley Craft Center Art Educator Scholarship, Museum of Arts and Design – Open Studio Residency. She is currently a resident artist at League Artist Natural Design (landgallery.org) in DUMBO, Brooklyn NY. ”
